Located on Avenida de Mayo, its dome is not only visually striking, but also rich in cultural symbolism.
Built with a copper-clad iron structure, this beautiful dome offers breathtaking panoramic views. Its lighthouse once served a practical function, guiding the ships that sailed the Río de la Plata , but it no longer fulfills that function.

In the heart of the City, former headquarters of La Prensanewspaper, stands the Palas Atenea, crowned by a dome that evokes a golden age of Argentine journalism. This structure is more than just an architectural feature. It symbolises the ambition and influence once held by this emblematic newspaper.
The statue that crowns the dome, holds a torch in its right hand, illuminating the path of journalism, while in her left hand it holds a newspaper, representing current events, advocating for press freedom. The monumental 3.000-kilogram bronze figure features a powerful beacon and a siren to announce major news.

Although La Prensa ceased publication from this building decades ago, the dome of the Palas Atenea building remains a silent witness to its legacy.
