Discover Rosedal de Palermo
Few spectacles are as beautiful as the blossoming of the nearly 8.000 roses that grow in the Rosedal. This garden of almost 4 hectares, with free and open access, is located on the President Pedro Montt Avenue. Every day, it attracts tourists and local residents, Citywho stroll along its paths, walking among rose bushes of various shades. It is also a perfect location to take photographs and capture de best memories of Buenos Aires.

It is located inside the Parque 3 de Febrero and it is one of the most beautiful and colorful spaces to enjoy the summer in the City.
Its popularity is not unjustified: this carefully designed garden was awarded the 2012 Garden Excellence Award, granted by the World Federation of Rose Societies (WFRS).Among its rose species, the most famous ones are the bright red Seville rose, the Johan Strauss, Charles Aznavour and Frederic Mistral (all in shades of pink) and the light yellow Elina. The roses are carefully maintained: around each bush you, can see the hoses of the irrigation system specially designed for this garden.
They need to be sprayed and fertilised regularly. In winter, the rose garden is pruned and cuttings are distributed so that neighbours can grow their own roses.
Among the rose bushes there are busts of famous poets, who are honored in the Garden of the Poets. There, Dante Alighieri meets Jorge Luis Borges, Antonio Machado and Federico García Lorca with Alfonsina Storni, among others.

Very close by is the Patio Andaluz, built in 1929 and donated by the city of Seville to the city of Buenos Aires. Majolica ornaments decorate the benches, steps and floors of the patio, which is surrounded by wisteria trees.
Built to cross the Rosedal Lake, the white bridge is also known as the Hellenic Bridge or Greek Bridge, due to its architectural features.
The Unmissable Spots
If you go to the Rosedal de Palermo, these are the essentials you should visit:
- The lake: Hosts numerous fish species, such as tarariras, toothfish, mojarras and catfish. You can rent a rowing or pedal boat at the pier to have fun doing something atypical.
- The White Bridge or Lovers' Bridge: Legend has it that lovers should hold hands, climb to the first step and both with their right foot stop halfway and kiss.
- Patio Andaluz: recreates a small Andalusian courtyard with its benches, a splendid fountain, multicoloured majolica stairs and a gazebo.
- The Rose Garden: It is the heart of the Rosedal and there you will find the reason for its name, with the most varied specimens of roses.
- The pergola: It is in Greek style and is located near the bridge, it runs in a zigzag pattern along the shore of the lake for several meters.
- The fountains: There are five of them and they are distributed throughout the promenade.
- The Garden of Poets: It has 26 busts of important writers from around the world.
