The City Tax has been applicable since March 1, 2020, with the enactment of Law 6.278. It establishes that every foreign tourist who is not a resident of the Argentine Republic and is over twelve (12) years of age must pay a special contribution for the right to use and enjoy the public space of the City of Buenos Aires, per night and per person.

All foreign tourists who are not residents of the Argentine Republic and are over twelve (12) years of age must pay USD 1.5 per night, per person. This tax applies to all categories of tourist services, including 3, 4, and 5-star hotels, boutique hotels, apart-hotels, temporary rentals, and cruises.
