In addition to being known for the passion aroused by football, tango, icons such as the Obelisco and the quality of its gastronomy, Buenos Aires stands out for promoting coexistence based on freedom, diversity and respect. That is why it is usually recognized as the Capital of diversity in the region.
Specifically, it is the first city in Argentina to have legalized Civil Unions between people of the same sex, a decade before the approval of the Equal Marriage Law.
Lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals, intersex, queers, asexuals and other identities find here a destination full of cultural, artistic and social proposals to enjoy an unforgettable stay.
While International Pride Day is on June 28, since 1997 Buenos Aires has celebrated it on the first Saturday of November, in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the founding of “Nuestro Mundo”, the first homosexual organisation in Argentina and in all Latin America.
The Pride Parade is a characteristic landmark of our City. Over the course of a week, different activities are carried out, ranging from cinema, art, music and tours, led by artists, cultural groups and organizations. The streets are dressed in colours, glitter and colourful flags with different slogans.
