In Buenos Aires, the myth of the “100 barrios porteños” has endured over time as a poetic expression that reflects its diversity and cultural richness.

However, the truth is that officially there are 48 neighbourhoods in the City. Each one with its own history and distinctive characteristics forms the urban fabric.

  • Palermo, with its forests, parks and lakes, is ideal for nature lovers. In this neighbourhood, you can also enjoy a wide variety of international shops, bars and restaurants. The creativity of the people of Buenos Aires is reflected in the countless names that this neighbourhood receives:
    • Palermo Viejo: So called because it preserves old, low houses alongside the most modern buildings, which give it a particular imprint. Within this neighbourhood is Palermo Soho, with independent designer businesses, art galleries and bookstores, and Palermo Hollywood, which is characterized by its television and film studios.
    • Palermo Botánico, Chico, and Alto Palermo: the first is located around the Jardín Botánico. Then, Palermo Chico is a tree-lined neighbourhood with elegant buildings, and Alto Palermo is located around the shopping center that bears the same name.
    • Las Cañitas, Palermo Pacífico and Palermo Nuevo: The first, close to the Hipódromo de Palermo, in addition to its large number of bars and restaurants, is known for its sports activities related to polo, turf and golf. Then, Palermo Pacífico refers to the bridge that connects different spaces in the City, and Palermo Nuevo is an area of ​​offices, jewelry stores and delicatessen stores. Also in this neighbourhood that preserves its port imprint is La Bombonera, one of the most iconic and oldest soccer fields in the City. Typical dishes that you will find here?   • Recoleta, with its famous cemetery and world-renowned museums, is ideal for those passionate about history and culture. There you can visit the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes or dine at an elegant restaurant.
